About CatBasket

CatBasket is a UK-based independent cat product review and advice site. We exist because most "best cat food UK" articles are written by people who have never opened the tin, and most breed guides read like they were copied from the same Wikipedia paragraph.

We wanted something better. Something written by people who actually own cats, buy the products with their own money, and live with the results.

What we do

We write honest, detailed reviews of cat products available in the UK. We cover food, litter, cat trees, tech (GPS trackers, automatic litter trays, microchip cat flaps), and everything else a UK cat owner might need to research before spending their money.

We also publish breed guides, new owner resources, health information, and rescue and rehoming advice. All of it is written specifically for a UK audience, with UK prices, UK retailers, and UK-relevant advice on things like pet insurance, vaccination schedules, and indoor versus outdoor considerations.

How we work

• We buy products ourselves. We do not accept free samples from manufacturers. If we review it, we paid for it.
• We test in real homes with real cats. Not in a lab. Not based on spec sheets. Our cats are the testers, and they have strong opinions.
• We give honest verdicts. If a product is overpriced, we say so. If it is genuinely good, we say that too. We have no interest in recommending something just because it pays well.
• We compare UK prices. We check prices across Amazon UK, Pets at Home, Zooplus, and independent retailers so you can find the best deal.
• We tell you what not to buy. Most review sites only recommend things. We think knowing what to avoid is just as valuable.
